This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Remember being shy and not wanting to ask for help? My students are wonderful and bright. They are eager writers and must share and learn together. This projector, laptop and document camera will allow us to share our works in progress and help each other through the writing process.
My students write but at times feel they are done with the first draft.
Having this projector will allow us to work on pieces together while they practice how to buddy edit and revise as a class. Our school is working diligently on elevating the quantity and quality of writing produced by our students. This resource will allow us to search for and use mentor texts/resources while writing.
My Project
I am requesting an HP Intel laptop computer, IPEVO document camera and a Vivitek Qumi projector to bring learning in our classroom into the 21st Century. We will be able to use the projector once attached to the computer and document camera to display our works in progress and have buddy editing/revising sessions. We can also watch short pieces of videos and other resources, as mentor pieces, to help us in the writing process.
Locating resources and mentor texts will be very beneficial to all.
Right now students confer with one classmate or the teacher to make their writing better. This laptop computer, document camera and projector will allow us all to help and learn how to revise and edit helping others whose work is being projected and elicit from students strategies to use when we have to do it by ourselves.
