My Students

My students love to use technology to share their work! We have access to a computer lab and Web 2.0 tools such as Glogster and Google sites. We are in need of a digital camera to capture images, photos, and events.

I have a wonderful group of 29 students who are eager to jump into 21st century learning.

In our middle class East Bay (CA) school, we have a computer lab which allows the students to explore the web and research topics they are interested in. I have a cluster of GATE students (gifted) who are thirsty for knowledge and who enjoy learning new computer skills.

My Project

I am requesting a digital camera, with video capabilities. This camera could radically change our curriculum and enhance the technology already available. Last year I used a Web 2.0 tool called Glogster with my students. Glogster enables them to create a digital poster (called a glog). Each student made a glog about the American Revolution. Later in the year, students created glogs about an animal they completed a research report on. Students used images they found online to add to their projects. If we had access to our own digital camera, students could take photos and videos of their own observances and add them to their creations. The possibilities are endless!

My students would be so excited to have a classroom camera.

It would personalize their technology projects as well as give them a sense of pride. They would also learn skills needed to become learners in the 21st century. Thank you!
