Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are highly engaged and innovative young adults. They come from low socio-economical homes. Our school is a Title I school, which means that the majority of our school qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch. That impacts my students greatly. I know that while they have the motivation, desire, determination, and skill to achieve greatness; many of them cannot afford the necessary materials to achieve their goals.
While our school is a Title I school, it has been able to maintain an A school status for years.
Our students are capable of great things. We, as teachers do all that we can to ensure the excellence of our students and to secure their future. I ask for assistance in getting my wonderful students there.
My Project
With these items, including the digital camera, my students can create projects, take photographs, record themselves, and then upload it to the laptop to edit and present their work. I also like to teach my students 21st century skills by teaching them how to record, photograph, upload, edit, and submit their digital work and presentations. These are skills my students will need in the world they live in. Students often complain about history being boring. I would like to make history interactive and bring it to life with these items. We need these items to record, edit, and publish videos that the students create.
