My students need styluses, tripods, an iPad mount, a portable projector and subscriptions to scholastic news to make science real for my students this year.
Inspire future scientists! This is your chance to show these children what science is and inspire them to be the next Thomas Edison!
I teach first grade in a Title I school in Utah.
It's a high-needs school where over 80 percent of the students live in poverty. We also receive students from a nearby homeless shelter. I choose to teach here because its where I know I can make a difference. Often I'm the only good thing in my students' day. Many of my students are also English Language Learners and because of this they need extra support and a more creative means of instruction.
My Project
These resources will help inspire students to love science. The projector and iPad mount will enable students to work together with one iPad on a science project or read and explore the Scholastic science magazine. The styluses will allow for note taking when we go on some virtual scientific field trips.
My students are innately curious about the world they live in and these supplies will help them to explore and make sense of that world.
Through your generous donations hopefully my students will be inspired to pursue engineering and other scientific fields as possible careers in the future.
