2025 Halloween Window Painting in Downtown Toms River, NJ

Help me give my students paint, mural paper, brushes and tape for our annual Halloween Window Painting.

My Project

The TRHSS art department and art students are seeking your help to make our annual Halloween Window Painting a success in October of 2025! Every year, around 90 talented artists from our school are selected to paint large murals on windows in Downtown Toms River to decorate the town for it's annual Halloween Parade.

The Halloween Window Painting is a highly cherished event by our students!

Students begin their concepts for these paintings every September. The students paint a smaller rendering of their painting, using tempera paint on 12" x 18" sheets of tagboard. The art teachers guide students on their composition, implementing all the Elements of Art and of course, making sure it has a clear Halloween related theme! When the paintings are finished, students can choose to enter into the school wide contest to be selected for a window.

The best part about these Halloween Paintings is the tradition. If you are familiar with TRHSS, you know that the teachers, students, administrators, alumni and community, pride themselves on the great tradition and spirit that this school has always held! The Halloween window painting tradition dates back to 1946, making 2025 the 79th year of our annual window painting.

We are asking for help from our community for this upcoming year as the prices of art supplies have increased. Our district is currently in a major funding crisis due to aid cuts from the state of New Jersey. This is a long running tradition and the best part of my job as an art teacher at South. Our students need your help to keep this long running tradition alive for years to come. Anything that you could donate would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your consideration!
