Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
CHHS's Academy of Engineering is having an Olympics comprised of STEM activities for 150. The students participating in this event will be placed in teams of 3-4 students. Each team will compete in one of the following STEM activities: Aerodynamics, Algorithms & AI, Astrodynamics, Bridges, Clean Water, and Robots. Students attending will be in 8th-12th grades. This event is designed to get/keep students interested in learning about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math as well as build students' employability skills by practicing teamwork, communication, and competitiveness.
The goals of this project is to increase interest in the CHHS Academy of Engineering and get students interested in learning the academy pathways, Engineering, STEM, Agriculture, Technology, & Industry.
This event also allows teachers to network with students outside of the classroom which will help build better relationships within the school building. The items donated will provide students snacks as well as prize ribbons and mementos for the best performing teams.
