Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

First grade is a magical year filled with discovery and growth. My students make incredible progress from the beginning of the year to the end, and their excitement for learning is contagious. However, keeping them consistently motivated throughout the year can be a challenge.

The materials I’m requesting will play a key role in maintaining that motivation while also reinforcing essential language and math skills.

In my district, we serve a large population of multilingual learners. These students benefit greatly from additional visual supports and hands-on practice when learning new skills. That’s why my wishlist includes items such as letter boards, sliding number lines, and play-dough—tools that support engagement and accessibility for all students, especially our ML students.

Additionally, I’ve included materials that will help our classroom run more smoothly, such as supply caddies, tape, and bulletin board paper. When our environment is organized and efficient, we can devote more time to meaningful learning.

What I’m most excited about are the 180-day workbooks. My plan is to make weekly copies for students to provide consistent, skill-focused practice in an engaging and purposeful way.
