This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My scholars are rock stars! We are part of a Title I school and 77% of my students come from low socioeconomic families, but learning is one thing that keeps on going!

My students give me the drive and purpose.

When they are at school, they are lighthearted, driven scholars; and there with a purpose to learn. They put aside their external concerns to just enjoy being at school and being surrounded by their supportive peers and educators.

My students and I work as a supportive team to help each other grow academically, socially, and emotionally. This year will be a totally new challenge for our class as we start the year remote learning. It will all be online and we hope to return back to the classroom soon.

This is an investment you won’t regret because my students become one step closer to being college-prepared and empowered lifelong learners. So many workplace professionals are produced in schools. My students are striving daily to become global citizens who will make a positive difference in the world regardless of their background or socioeconomic status. Investing in their education is the best investment you can make for your future!

My Project

I am requesting dry erase lap boards and markers, self-adhesive dots, rulers and a variety of books. The materials requested are supplies that are not put together for the students to use at home. Students will receive these items to keep at home. They will use lap boards and markers to synchronously participate in instruction and share their answers as shoutout on Zoom causes chaos. They will also have books that will be read to them and be added to our classroom library for their future access. Teacher is also requesting a mouse to help with easier navigation using remote learning technology.

During this remote learning, students will thrive if home learning best mimics classroom learning experience.

They will need these items during instruction for a more in-class model with hands on learning experience and classroom environment building. This is where the read aloud books come in. Teaching students does not start with the curriculum academic books. It starts with classroom environment building. These will help set expectations and help build their characters from the start.
