My students need replenished school supplies for midyear gifting as many students are displaced in our area or can't afford to buy new crayons, pencil boxes, scissors, colored pencils, glue sticks, pencil sharpeners, and pencils.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher at a Title 1 school, I realize that many of our students can't afford supplies, book bags and necessities for the entire school year. Many of our students are homeless and in need of personal hygiene items as well. My goal is to have teachers in grades K through 3rd choose one or two students in need per classroom to receive a December holiday gift tote bag filled with school supplies and personal hygiene products to begin the new school year 2019 in January. Usually, by winter break, students do not have new supplies to use. A local church is joining me in this effort. They will volunteer hygiene items and provide people to pack and prepare bags to distribute to the students before winter break. Please help our students to accomplish this goal for the 2018-2019 school year. Thank you for your support.
My Project
I plan to gather together gifted donated supplies in December 2018 such as the requested pencil boxes for organization, crayons, pencils, scissors, colored pencils, glue sticks, as well as personal hygiene items such as soap, toothbrush and toothpaste donated from the church to distribute to selected students, Pre-K through 3rd in a tote bag that each student can decorate and personalize.
This is a school project and local church volunteer project to help our students Pre-K through 3rd have the necessary materials to complete their schoolwork within the classroom efficiently.
Without their supplies, they have to either go without or wait to borrow supplies from another student. This is not a productive method for completing work or projects. Students need their tools. Unfortunately, many can't afford to replenish their supplies or are displaced from their homes and in need so this charitable project will add value to a child's educational needs.
