This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
One thing that we are always in need of is storage. We purchase pencils, crayons and markers, and then, they sit in a box on the window ledge or a table for student use. They look used and old. The students don't realize they are new and fresh. The markers then don't get capped, the pencils fall on the floor and get forgotten, and the crayons get stepped on and break.
A 20-cubby unit with bins will help keep our materials readily available and provide much needed organizational skills to my students.
They will learn to respect the materials and see them as tools for learning. Seeing our materials presented in a neat fashion will also teach them to appreciate the many wonderful items they have at their disposal to use and create. I will also be able to add fun items that people donate to my classroom, like string, tubes, fabric and ribbon.
Please help me provide this cubby unit for my students to help promote organizational skills, respect for property and artistic inspiration.
