Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is a school that serves students with a variety of special needs, including autism, intellectual disability, and emotionally disturbed. From the outside looking in, people may assume they are not athletic and physically incapable, but they are wrong! Our students compete at the highest levels of competitive sports. We participate (and win) in Special Olympics games, CHAMPS middle school athletics, and run in New York Road Runner events.
Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.
Our students do not back down from a challenge. That is what I love most about this age group and population. They love to be active. They love sports. They love physical education.
My Project
Remote learning has been a challenge for both students and teachers. By having two screens while teaching my students, I will be able to see my students and lesson plan at the same time which will provide for much smoother teaching. I also will need a larger screen since, in physical education, you teach more students.
It is vital to make eye contact with your students while teaching to make sure they are engaged and on task.
A second monitor would make our class much more productive and It would be an incredible improvement. With this screen, all students will be able to see in the gym, and I will be able to see all the students at home!
