My Students

I have an amazing group of ELL, SPED, and dyslexic fourth graders who love to learn and are eager for more educational experiences. Our abrupt school closure has broken their hearts.

I am afraid the students who do not have the ability to connect during these uncertain times will be at an even greater disadvantage when school resumes.

A few of my students do not have the technology resources they need to participate in online learning but have access to WiFi.

Luckily, most of my students do have technology resources and can connect with other classmates and me for online classes. ELL, SPED, and dyslexic students who able to access lessons and apps online are able to continue engaging in quality education.

My Project

In a "normal" classroom setting, my students have access to Chromebooks, and they have the ability to work on quality lessons that I have prepared, or they can go to an app to practice various academic skills. I work in small groups with my ELL and dyslexia students every day and they have made significant progress this year. This kind of learning has not changed for many of my students because we meet online in zoom meetings, but there are a couple of students that I teach who have zero access to technology right now.

If these two families were given the opportunity to have a Chromebook it would be life-changing.

We are talking about 7 children who will be able to have the ability to access online activities to continue the hard work they are accustomed to doing. Two families and 7 young children who want nothing more than to keep up and engage with their classmates, become more language proficient, practice reading, go on the online field trips, and so much more. Give these kids the opportunity they need in this uncertain time and you will be part of changing a life for the better.
