My Students

Do you remember what technology you had in your first grade classroom? I don't, and that is because we didn't have any. I want my first grade students to become familiar and comfortable with the latest technology.

I teach first grade in a high poverty Oklahoma public school district.

My students are always excited and motivated when I teach with technology. I want my first grade students to go wireless this year. I believe that if you introduce technology at an early age the students will always be comfortable using it and will not be afraid of it.

My Project

I am asking for a set of wireless speakers and wireless headphones that my students can use with our SMARTBoard. I am also asking for two wireless keyboards for my two student computers. My students will be able to move freely while working on the interactive SMARTBoard and my other students will not be distracted by the sound. The wireless speakers will be mounted near the SMARTBoard so that when we are doing whole group activities the sound will be near the board, right now the students view the SMARTBoard in front of them while the sound is coming from the back of the room.

I feel that my project is so important because students need to become familiar and comfortable with technology so that they will have a jump start on what they will be faced with in the future.

It is so important for my students to accept technology as part of their education early so that they will be successful using it later in their education.
