Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With the end of the year looming, I’d like to get some books for my first grade students to learn more about Memorial Day, Flag Day and also the Pledge of Allegiance. I think it’s important for them to understand the holidays on the calendar and why they’re celebrated. I’m also requesting skin tone bandages because the kids really feel represented when the band aids match the color of their skin. Plus, there are young icons imprinted, which is cool too! I’m a big believer in celebrating all important days at school; hence, the request for the last day of school shirts. We need the clip on labels to attach to the book bins for our new extensive collection of SEL books. Magnetic letters and clips will be used to create bulletin boards for students to have a visual reference on topics taught.
