Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Excitable, energetic and enthusiastic that is how I describe my students. My first grade students are learning about everything and asking questions about what they are learning and seeing. The school is located in a Spanish section of a city. My students are provided with lunch, and we start every day with breakfast provided by the school in my classroom.

My students and I are on an adventure together learning all the facts and figuring out questions together.

Every day my students have struggles that we work through, like losing their pencil in the middle of the test. Each day brings something new.

My Project

My students and I are in a brand new school together. We have a wonderful classroom but are lacking in supplies. I want to get more creative and start doing fun things with my students. But in order to do that I need to have the supplies on hand, not always have to run to the store. The chart paper is a huge part of learning. The students write information down they have learned, and we put it on the paper then hang them up all over the room. This way the students can remember the information later on.

I cannot even tell you how many times my students lose their pencil between their bookbag and their hand.

Having pencils in the classroom would help the students that forget or lose them. In order to have working pencils we need a sharpener that can keep up with the students usage.

I would also like to add crayons, markers, construction paper, and scissors to the classroom so we can do more art projects. My students love construction paper in all colors. I know this from the confetti they leave on the floor in art class. It would be amazing if I could have these supplies so I can do more projects with them.
