My Students

How often in a day do you check the time? How many times a day do you use money? Learning the foundations of money and time is extremely important. However, teaching about money and time is getting more difficult with clocks and money turning digital. Let's make learning about money and time fun!

My students are inspiring!

In a day I work with students from all walks of life. I am inspired by their compassion for one another. Our school and my classroom fosters an environment to embrace differences, and one look within the walls of our school and you will see it and feel it.

My Project

Teaching math during the day is a challenge. Math is made up of many components and two of the most challenging are learning about time and money. This part of math is difficult for my students because money and time have gone digital. Most of the clocks that my students see in their life are digital and many of my students' parents do not pay with cash or change, they pay with a card or check. The availability for students to have access to analog clocks and coins outside the classroom is minimal. Therefore, the impact of learning about money and time has to be improved in my classroom. That is why I have picked these materials and games. For time, the materials and game provide learning opportunities where my students can see both digital and analog time next to each other to improve transfer. For money, the games will improve their ability to count mixed coins and see how it relates to buying. Both money and time are important life skills that my students need.

Money and time are incredibly difficult areas of math for my students.

This donation to my classroom will immediately impact their learning as well as their future in the world. Thank you for helping to create smart and knowledgeable world citizens.
