My Project

The students at our school are special in so many ways. My aim for creating this project is to create a classroom environment that is rich in reading and comfort, so my students can truly embrace reading as a fun and regular activity.

1st grade is a foundational year for inspiring a love of books and reading for children.

Please help my students learn that reading is a fun, exciting, and transformative experience for humans! Many of my students come from households with a limited income, where books may be considered expensive, and reading may not always be highlighted as a priority. Our classroom is where this can change...and it can change with your help!

By purchasing comfy floor pillows, toy scoop rockers, and book series like Unicorn Diaries and Bug Boys, you can help my students be comfortable while finding books that are designed to "hook" them into reading. Beautiful pillow covers, magnets, and bookshelves will also help organize our classroom for a reading and child-friendly environment.
