1st Grade is a Rainbow of Possibilities

Help me give my students a printer to print weekly homework packets. We were given a limited number of copy clicks for the year. We also need a rug and stools for flexible seating, and zipper pouches to store learning stations.

My Project

I teach math and science to almost 50 1st graders. Our school is a low-income, inner-city, public school. Supplies from DonorChoose will make a difference in the classroom learning environment and the students’ academic growth.

My goal for this project is to use these items to help enhance and improve the learning environment for my students.

Due to budget cuts, we're only able to make a limited amount of copies. A classroom printer will ensure that we have an adequate amount of classroom and homework copies. Worksheets are needed to help practice and to improve academic skills.

Our classroom theme is “1st grade is a rainbow of possibilities” and the rainbow rug will be used during group activities. The stools will be used for small group instruction (teacher station) during our intervention block. Storage bags will be used to store classroom learning materials and station activities.

The students that I educate are special and they have overcame a lot of adversity. Despite the adversity that my students endure, they are very eager to learn.
