The small objects for Counting Collections will give students hands-on opportunities to explore essential math concepts, such as quantity, place value, and operations, in meaningful and engaging ways. These activities help students develop a strong foundation in the base-ten system by encouraging problem-solving, organization, and recording strategies. Students will deepen their understanding of number relationships and mathematical practices through individual and collaborative exploration.
My goal is to provide students with interactive, real-world math experiences that make abstract concepts tangible.
By using Counting Collections, I aim to support students’ development of number sense, foster collaborative learning, and help them build critical thinking skills that will serve as the foundation for future math success.
My students are inquisitive and enthusiastic learners who thrive when engaging with hands-on, interactive activities. They bring creativity and determination to their learning, and they are eager to explore math concepts in ways that are meaningful to them.
