This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a special education teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district, I am aware that my students are faced with social, emotional, and educational challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they may face, I want to keep things positive and engaging for the students.

This means that I am constantly trying to come up with creative ways to enhance my lessons, because of this, I am in need of storage solutions to keep these tools accessible and organized during these uncertain times.

As a teacher, I find myself continuously working on improving the students' self-esteem, perseverance, and academic abilities in a fun and creative way. The students are energetic, creative, and interested in learning all they can.

My Project

This project will benefit my entire class and their ability to stay organized and neat. With the school day being so busy I would love to allow my students the independence to create a keep their supplies neat and tidy. Know ing that the return to school may look different, I would love to give my students the materials they need to be successful while keeping a safe distance.

In previous years I used a communal supply area but this upcoming year I hope to provide all of my students with their own individual supplies to allow for safe distancing and learning.

I know that these items will be a great start to my organization of their supplies to make it manageable and realistic for everyday routines.
