Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Kindergarteners need to gain a solid foundation in number sense. All of my students are English learners in an inner city high poverty school.
This year, just as years prior, our school faces detrimental budget cuts and I am not able to provide my students the learning materials that they deserve. My students desperately need materials to reinforce skills on a daily basis that is fun and inviting. My school is unable to provide any money for my classroom. I cannot help my students reach their full potential without financial assistance.
My Kinder friends need hands on math materials and literature to reinforce the concepts they need to learn at this level. The literature will be used to show students practical uses for the skills they are being exposed to. It will also show students another purpose for writing and reading using the math curriculum. Since children learn by doing, these math centers will provide my students meaningful opportunities to practice skills needed to progress to the first grade. By having these resources for my students it will give them the opportunity to work with each other and learn from one another. I want to instill in my students a love for Math by making it fun!
I invite you to join my cause in making Math meaningful for my students. Your donation and support will have a direct impact in the learning of students. Kindergarten is the foundation for future academic success. Every student regardless of what zip code they live in deserve to have engaging materials to make learning fun. You can make this possible with your contribution. Thank-you!
