Our classroom family is made of 14 enthusiastic students in a small, rural elementary school. We are a close-knit community, and our students deserve the very best, but the funding isn't always available. I strive to find a way to get my students everything they need to be successful learners!
In our class, we are a family.
As in any family, each member brings something unique and valuable to the table. I strive to instill acceptance, support, and compassion into our daily lessons to insure that all students feel safe, loved, and valued when they come to school.
My Project
Using the magnetic file pockets and art supply storage, I aim to create a math center with supplies to allow students to independently engage in mathematical investigation. The magnetic storage will help organize practice sheets, and the art storage will keep the tools needed, such as pens, dry erase markers, and pencils within easy reach. Students will have colorful pens to draw their math pictures, as well as access to manipulatives such as tangrams, linking cubes and fraction strips.
Organization of our math materials will make them more accessible and allow them to be better utilized.
There is nothing more exciting than seeing a child take charge of their own learning!
