This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Wow! I am halfway through my 45th year as a teacher. It is so much more than a job. It's a pleasure and an honor to teach these precious children.
I was looking forward to having a “normal” school year but someone reminded me that instead of returning “to normal” we should strive to return “to better!
“ Our school is a Title I school in rural South Carolina. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Our classroom is a family. We may not begin the year that way but it is definitely how we end the year. We laugh, cry, and celebrate with each other. We care. We love. Our students work hard and they are excited and eager to explore and learn.
My Project
I am requesting arts and crafts kits, crayons and other materials to help us celebrate the 100th Day of School. Our kindergarten students get smarter every single day but being "100 Days Smarter" is definitely worth a special celebration!
Beginning on the first day of school, we start counting the number of days we have been in school.
We know that when we reach the 100th day we will have a special celebration.
We will spend our day counting to 100 in various ways - by ones, by tens and by fives.
We make various crafts that involve counting as well. We are requesting craft kits, pom pom beads, crayons and canvas. We will make lasting memories while we are practicing our math skills.
