This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are young children who are enthusiastic learners and are in a preschool special education setting. I love seeing how my students are curious and explore their surroundings at their own pace. I love the different ways they use their creativity to problem solve. More than anything, I love seeing how eager they are to come to school to learn and play!

My Project

The nursery rhyme and classical books will be used throughout the day. We will use it during our large group music time, library, small groups, and outdoor time. My students enjoy singing to nursery rhymes and retelling familiar stories. They will have individual bins at each center for them to grab and enjoy reading throughout the day.

Some of our favorite nursery rhymes are Ten Little Monkeys, Humpty Dumpty, the Itsy Bitsy Spider during our music time and adding nursery rhyme board books to our class will help my students' oral language to help them develop their reading and communication skills.
