My students come to school every day eager and excited to learn. These students all receive free breakfast and lunch and many come from low socioeconomic families. Many of my students struggle with math and reading and are weak with skills required for the 4th grade level. For many of them my classroom is there home away from home that provides them with a fun learning environment, structure and stability.
My students have a variety of learning styles and backgrounds.
My 4th grade classroom is comprised of both special education students and regular education students. With a variey of learning levels in my classrooom, I need a variety of resources to help meet all their learning levels. By using technology and different apps I will be able to provide them with differentiated learning experiences.
I want my students to be successful in and out of the classroom. My students can really expand their learning by using technology to reinforce, explore, and help them meet the high demands required for the fourth grade.
My Project
Throughout the school year, students will be using the ipads for various activities in both science and math. Students will engage in google classroom assignments that have been selected to promote differentiation in the classroom.
Students will use specific apps and websites geared toward each unit we are studying in the classroom.
Some of these sights include boom cards to reinforce sills, Study Island, and Podigy.
These ipads will be used independently and in groups to complete projects and to present projects to the class. I hope to have this project funded to help promote more technology in the classroom.
