it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My school is an equity-focused school where we believe that every child, regardless of their background, deserves access to high-quality educational experiences. Our music program is a vital part of this mission, as we strive to ensure that all students have the opportunity to explore and express themselves through the arts.
What I love most about our students is their boundless creativity and curiosity.
They come to class each day ready to learn and excited to make music. Music is a powerful tool that allows them to find their voices, collaborate with one another, and build confidence. It is especially impactful in creating a space where every child feels included and valued.
In order to continue nurturing their love for music, we are working to complete our Orff ensemble with the addition of an Orff bass bar. This instrument is essential in helping students develop key musical skills and allows them to experience the joy of making music together.
By providing this resource, we are not only enhancing their music education but also reinforcing our commitment to equity. Access to high-quality instruments like the bass bar ensures that every student has an opportunity to engage fully, no matter their starting point.
The addition of the bass bar will:
1. Promote inclusivity by allowing students of all skill levels to participate in the ensemble
2. Develop teamwork and collaboration as they play together
3. Teach key musical concepts like harmony, rhythm, and dynamics
4. Foster creativity through improvisation and composition
