My Project

Great Expectations School is transitioning to a much needed larger building. With that transition, my classroom will move into a larger classroom with big windows, sunlight, and a cement floor.

Rugs and cushions will provide the foundation for creating a comfortable learning environment for my kindergarten students.

Five and six year olds need lots of opportunities to learn, play, and collaborate on the floor. The large rug will provide a space for morning meeting, whole group learning, open-ended play, and rest time.

We will use cushions to give extra support under the torso while propped up on elbows. Many students benefit from this writing position to develop a stronger core and wrist motion.
