My Students

I am currently teaching at a middle school. About 70%-80% of my students are growing up in a low socioeconomic environment.

Despite my student current circumstances, they are bright, intelligent, and very eager learners.

As a teacher, I try to expose my students to different learning strategies. I attempt to provide my students with hands-on, computer based, cooperative learning and peer buddy activities. My aspiration is to continue to provide my bright students with diverse, enriched learning activities and empower students each every day.

My Project

A Math class WITHOUT CALCULATORS?! Yes, you read it right. My math students are working with either no calculators or having to share broken ones. Although I strive to teach my to utilize their brains first before they resort to a using a calculator, I would like to provide my students with a class set a calculators.

I think having calculators in a the class could help my students quickly work through math problems.

Though some math problems are required to be solve without calculators, I would like to provide my students with calculators for the math problems they are allowed to use them.

I would to prepare my students for every type problem and situation they may encounter on LEAP test (Louisiana State Assessment)
