This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It's never too early to teach children financial literacy. My bilingual first graders are eager to explore how people spend, earn and save money.
Please help me give them these fantastic financial literacy tools to teach them all about money!
Teaching students about money makes for great cross-curricular opportunities with our Social Studies and Math standards. On top of that, I have found two money-themed books, one fiction and another nonfiction, to extend the cross-curricular connections to language arts also.
Having large, magnetic coins to display will make engaging demonstrations during whole group lessons. And, the coins and cash register will provide excellent opportunities for hands-on exploration during center activities.
