This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
These workshops will equip teachers with the tools necessary for integrating agriculture into our instruction. Each workshop will include a farm tour and participants will hear from industry experts and receive resources to use in the classroom immediately. Technology is integral in today's agriculture industry. This workshop will feature STEM based learning activities to show how engineering and agriculture go hand-in-hand. Learn more about how forestry contributes both to the economy and to conservation efforts.
Participants will receive a certificate to present to their home district for renewal credit.
June 13 9:30 am - 4 pm Sharp and Sharp Certified Seed
June 19 9:30 am - 4 pm Clemson University
July 10 9:30 am - 4 pm Log Creek Timber
July 16 9:30 am - 4 pm The Farm at Florence One
. This workshop will take teachers from farm to fork.
Teachers will learn more about row crops and the seed certification process.
I will need several items to participate in these agriculture instruction for teachers.
I will need buckets to show students how to gather produce and feed animals on the farm, Bags to organize and transport materials, a laser pointer to use to point out details, pens to write information, and a flashlight to show how some plants react to light.
