I am a first-year kindergarten teacher teaching at an inner city DC public school. As I set up my classroom, I found that many basic materials are missing. With the support from other teachers, I managed to get some simple materials, such as an easel, manipulatives, puzzles, blocks, etc. to start my classroom. Right now, I have a 'just acceptable' math center, writing center, listening center, and computer center. Besides that, I have a totally bare science corner. The only thing I have is a table, three chairs, and a science center sign. To fulfill my science center, I am requesting magnets, eye droppers, Lakeshore's "Hands-on Science Center", and thermometers, among other items. Please help my children to get some basic science materials, so that they can explore and discover answers for their curious minds.
