This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The summer is over and another school year is about to begin! Can you smell the fresh black ink and the crisp white paper yet? Wait a minute my new school doesn't have a complete teachers resource room! Due to a bad fire that burned away our die cut machine along went the letters, numbers and shapes!

This is my first year teaching in an ESL pull-out kindergarten through second grade program.

My school has a heavy Hispanic population and the surrounding community has many abandoned homes that the children have to walk past in the early morning school hours. The parents are a hard working class of people that are the driving force for their children's education. Some have barely finished the fourth grade and expect their children to surpass them and want them to expand on their special dreams.

My Project

One die cut machine with a full set of upper case letters and numbers can perform magic tricks for the classroom! It can transform plain bulletin boards into perfectly placed backdrops that will lead a child's eyes to remember weekly spelling words, writing traits, and basic steps in mathematics. With just a few pulls and tugs many children can grasp content curriculum from put together magical letters and numbers. The best part are the literacy and math games that can be created for struggling students to have in the classroom and to take home as well.

Your donation towards my materials can be reused day after day and can become a valuable asset to not only my classroom but to the entire school and empower a community to dedicate their time with their children to read and explore math.
