My students need four Read About Science kits in order to read about their science topics.

My Students
Do you remember what your first science experiment was like? Unfortunately, my students do not get enough time for science because we are a low-performing school.
My students are second graders in an urban, Title I school in Connecticut.
They are very curious and have expressed an interest in science. The kits we receive however, do not provide an opportunity for students to connect literacy and science. By providing these kits, you will be bridging the gap between literacy and science for my students.
My Project
I am asking for Science kits that include books that provide in depth background knowledge on the four Science topics that my second graders will be studying. The kits also include information cards that I can use during my small group instruction, as well as experiments that the students can conduct to put what they have learned into action.
How would you feel if your favorite subject was ignored because of low reading scores?
Some students work better when they learn through hands-on activities. Please help me show my students the way Science effects their daily lives!
