This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

By giving the gift of frogs you are truly helping students get a unique hands on experience with science. We know they will get a croak out of it.

Our students currently attend a public school in our nation's capital.

Our school is a Title I school and serves all students free and reduced meals. Our student population is 94% African American and 6% Latino. Over 25% of the students have special education needs. Although these needs can be challenging to meet,our students are truly appreciative of the knowledge they gain. Our staff is extremely dedicated to providing student with a quality education based on high expectation and academic rigor.

My Project

The frog dissection activity will provide our students with the opportunity to get hands on with science. It will serve as the capstone of a two month long unit on all of the different body systems. Students will not only learn how to dissect and identify organs and systems but it will reinforce the steps of the scientific method.

The frog dissections much more than a lab.

It will help the students embrace the scientific method which is essential to culturing inquisitive minds. By helping us with our project you will be giving our students the opportunity to embrace and interact with science on a level that has not be previously accessible.
