FULLY FUNDED! Mr. VALENTINE's classroom raised $250
This project is fully funded
My Students
My account has about $100 towards another project that did not get funded. The parts are inexpensive, but will secure the two nets we so humbly received two years ago. There is a need for 2 of the same part for the two tennis nets that are installed.
The school is in an urban area in which over 95% of the students qualify for free or reduced lunch and breakfast.
The repair of the tennis poles is critical for general upkeep and appearance. Crime in our vicinity has continued to escalate, placing our youth at greater risk of gang violence and decreasing self-worth.
My Project
With the continued instruction on the tennis court, the students will continue to improve their skills. The courts will be ready for family and public play during the summer months. It will also permit an alternative for those students challenged with gangs affiliations. My students need two (2) tennis post reels during the final 8 weeks of school.
If we have a better spring in Chicago than last year, the students will use the courts more during the day and in afterschool programs.
We are in the midst of partnering with a tennis pro to help our students improve their game. This will also help the tennis program in the fall!
