I am a 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Math and Science inclusion teacher at Denham Springs Junior High in Denham Springs, Louisiana. My classroom is outside the school in a temporary building provided to us by FEMA and we have welcomed many students who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina. I am a new teacher who has embarked on helping low math deficit and special education students in our school. My classroom is an inclusion classroom meaning that I have both special- and general- education students, and I work in a collaborative, team-teaching setting. Many of my students do not have access to a computer or internet access in their homes. I am asking for a projector package for my classroom. The special needs students as well as the general education students would greatly benefit from the versatility of a projector in my classroom. The students would be able to view a variety of videos from United Streaming with the help of the projector and laptop. Using the Internet as a teaching tool brings the world to many children who would not ordinarily have such experiences.
