Autopsy 101

My students need a model of a human torso to help them understand thoroughly all functions of that part of a human body.

Hooray! This project is fully funded

My Students

My students are English learners; therefore, a visual, audio, and kinesthetic approach is important to provide a full understanding of the content. In addition, it would be more interesting to have a hands-on model for students to manipulate the organ parts while presenting their functions to the class.

An actual 3D model of a human body with detachable organs will considerably help my students figure out the respiratory, digestive, and circulatory systems.

By assembling and disassembling the organ parts and learning about each of their functions, students will acquire a better understanding of the concepts versus the one dimensional information in the textbook.

My Project

A model of a human body will be extremely valuable and a thrill to students to be able to see, touch, and explore during the discussion of the human body. It will help get students excited and interested in science and in exploring the learning process. This life model will also allow children to get a greater awareness and appreciation of their own body and take better care of their body afterward.

This model will be reusable over and over again every year with different sets of students.

It will profit at least sixty kids per year and will continue to do so with other kids in years to come. It is a one time expense, but a lifetime benefit as this plastic model is built to last. Besides teaching students the functions of a human body, I can also use this model to teach social behaviors such as the negative impact of smoking, drugs, and alcohol on a human body.
