My Students
Work hard ... PLAY harder! Don't we all wish we could take a 45 minute break and PLAY everyday? Please help us purchase sports equipment so our kids can learn more about cooperation & teamwork through organized sports.
Our school is filled with about 400 lively, creative, talented & diverse students.
We have about 16 different languages spoken at our school, about 60% of our students come from a family whose 1st language isn't english. We are at about 98% free/reduced lunch, low socioeconomic, and a Title I school. We are located in a rural town in NC. Our students don't have the options most children do - such as playing on a local soccer team, going to volleyball camp or a football clinic. They're incredibly talented, dedicated & motivated to learn. They may not have much in the bank - but their hearts and smiles are huge ... and they deserve the world!
My Project
I would love for our students to have the opportunity to play as hard as they work. They bring old soccer balls from home, set up rocks & such for goals on the playground. Many of our students are from Mexico & Central America and have natural ability & passion for soccer. They need to learn about teamwork, cooperation, perseverance and dedication. I can't think of a better place to learn...than the playing field. These students need to take pride in themselves & realize their full potential. I hope you will choose to enrich their live, 1 'goal' at a time.
Our students' lives will be enhanced in many ways through implementing organized sports activities at school.
These kids have a lot on their minds... their parents who are unemployed or ill, the motel where they currently live, wondering if they will have food to eat when they go home. These children need some time to be kids, to laugh, to experience success and to feel a sense of pride. Please help us reach these GOALS ... just for kicks!
