My Students
Do you remember using and old mouse that had a ball in the bottom? Having to constantly clean the ball in order to have the mouse work properly? The mice in our computer lab are old and broken. Most of the balls in the mice have worn down and cracked and can barely function.
My students are smart children that are learning to become responsible adults in an increasingly technological world.
They are excited about technology and acquiring knowledge. They LOVE to learn. They CHOSE to attend our charter school in New Orleans because they know it is the best place to prepare them for college.
My Project
My students need new mice and mouse pads for our computer lab. We have a few great software programs that will enable the students to all achieve their potential. We have an online homework system that helps the students as they do their homework. It also lets the students know if they have gotten a problem correct or not and lets them try a new problem until they get it correct. This helps eliminate the problem of a student trying doing all their homework the wrong way.
The other program enables us to differentiate instruction to particular students. It helps us to push the higher performing students even higher and helps bring up all the other students at their own paces. It does all this in a fun and interactive way.
Many of the students do not have Internet access at home so having the ability to utilize these resources at school is a must.
This project will help ensure that all students get a fair shake in their math education.
It will ensure that all students can utilize the tools that can help them succeed. It will enable all students to feel like their education is important and their needs are met.
