I am an 11th grade special education resource teacher. My class is made up of students with learning disabilities and students with ADHD- Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder. In the past 10 years, I have found that my students do not learn as well in the traditional classroom setting. Due to the trouble they have with attention and focus, the traditional desk classroom is quite a challenge. I am requesting 3 bean bag chairs or floor chairs to give them the opportunity to learn in their own way. I strongly believe that every child CAN learn, it is just up to the teacher to find the method that works best. I am also requesting three thumb drives for data storage on computers. Our school does not allow students to bring disks from home, due to viruses transferred. My students have a great deal of projects on the computer and are slower pace than regular education students. Thumb drives could be very beneficial in helping them keep up with their assignments and be able to work on them anywhere in the school or even at home. Thank you for your consideration!!!!
