Hello! I am a teacher at PS 76 in Harlem. I am the teacher of very inquisitive four and fifth graders who are in love with math. The more math, the better. As their teacher, I want to foster this love for math. Unfortunately, I have exhausted our school's supplies of math manipulatives. I would love to build my classroom's math center with manipulatives that would increase my student's knowledge as well as inspire them to think about math problems and not just simply solve them. For example, when adding fractions, students can provide the correct answer but have no connection with 3/4 or 2/8. Manipulatives can provide a concrete connection that pushes them to think about a problem which will lead to a deeper level of understanding of a subject they love. I can assure you that these manipulatives will have hands on them throughout the year. Thank you for consideration.
