Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach third grade bilingual gifted and talented students in an urban, high-need school district in Wisconsin.
Students love to act. It is even more fun to see yourself on television after you have performed, to improve your skills, reflect, and to have a memory of your performance.
My class needs a camcorder, tripod, case, and Mini DV tapes to record short skits that they write and perform. Third grade students are just beginning to discover themselves and talents they have. A camcorder would allow them to see their performance, and then critique and reflect on it.
Your donation will make it possible for my students to see themselves performing on tape. Students are thrilled to be able to watch an original piece that they wrote and starred in come to life on the television screen. A camcorder and accessories would provide that opportunity to each student.
