Hello!
I am a first grade teacher in Brooklyn NY. The most important lessons I teach to these highly active six and seven- year-olds takes place in our library corner on the rug. I am in need of an easel which will help me to organize the many diverse lessons I teach daily. A easel on wheels with a white board, blackboard, and storage bins would be user friendly for me as well as the children to work on during center time!
My first grade class is located in a highly impoverished area where both children and teachers struggle for school supplies. The school is very structured and rigid, and I am hoping to create a developmental environment where I am not required to teach with children in their seats, but are able to move around freely. Hopefully, some basic supplies like an easel will help to accomplish this.
If it is possible to receive this important teaching tool, I believe I can go further with calendar programs and writers workshop. Hopefully all 24 of my student's will be able to receive a truly developmental learning experience this upcoming year.
Thank you in advance,
Elizabeth Sandsmark
