Hello! I am a fifth grade teacher in the Pelham Bay area of the Bronx. Unfortunately, with the emphasis on standardized testing the creativity and joy of writing is often lost. Throughout the school year, I have tried to help foster a love for writing in my students. My students have worked very hard the entire year. They have written several pieces in a variety of genres. I would like my students to select their favorite pieces of writing and create a book. We will celebrate the students' writing by sharing their books with their friends, family, and other students in the school. As they continue with their academic careers, I am hoping that when the students look through their books, they will remember how enjoyable writing can be. A Binding System would give the students' books a professional look. The students will feel as if their writing has truly been published.
