My special education students need 15 copies of 3 Barron's Shakespeare Made Easy classics - "Romeo and Juliet", "Julius Caesar", and "Macbeth".

Special Needs students CAN and WILL read Shakespeare! My students are inner city special education students with lots of spunk! Their ability levels range from very low to gifted. They come from all walks of life and they are hungry to learn.

Recently, our district has had to make many cut-backs. Therefore, we have had to cut our supplies. I was given one copy of the three Shakespearean dramas ("Romeo and Juliet", "Julius Caesar", and "Macbeth") and told to make copies for 45 students!

I was given the original versions of the novel but it was too difficult for the students to read. I found the Barron's Shakespeare Made Easy books that have both the original text and the contemporary English translation. The students can read both versions to understand how to read Shakespeare. Additionally, the students will not feel left out when their "regular education" counterparts are reading these classic novels.

Reading is essential to success in life. It opens the door to imagination and helps to develop vocabulary along the way. People who read more are more likely to be successful. Your donation can make the difference in so many students' lives. You will make it possible for my students to be exposed to culture and see how writing can be timeless. "Romeo and Juliet", "Julius Caesar", and "Macbeth" all have themes that are applicable still today. You can help open the door to a whole new world of knowledge!
