We've done a book report and some watercolor portraits to showcase the themes of the literature unit we completed together. The students enjoyed the upgraded graphic novels for their book reports! They are getting better at picking new authors, building creative vocabulary posters, and helping share their thoughts about their authors with their classmates. I have several students who are more energized to use the reading corner of our room, and they find reading far more enjoyable when they are comfortable. The books are used nearly every day. Amazingly, the students are producing wholesome conversations and work samples that I normally receive late in the school year. DonorsChoose has been a rewarding and uplifting program for so many kids.
