My innovative rural high school is fanatical in its mission to equip our students with 21st Century skills. We want every student to be college-ready by the time they graduate. To that end, we focus not just on state content standards, but also critical thinking, oral and written communication, work ethic, collaboration, and technology skills. We try to connect students to their community through challenging projects that have real-world meaning. Though our students haven't had much experience outside of this county, and fewer than a handful in our school have a parent with a four-year college degree, our students are determined and enthusiastic, especially when they can use technology with a real-life purpose.
