About Marietta City Schools

Founded in 1892, Marietta City Schools is tradition-rich and future-focused. We are one of Georgia’s first Charter Systems and first International Baccalaureate (IB) World School Districts.

Marietta City Schools serves approximately 8,900 students in 12 schools representing a diverse student body—about 38 percent Hispanic, 37 percent African American, 20 percent White—with approximately 60 percent of our students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. Nine of our 12 schools are Title I.

Our small size affords us the rare ability to be both nimble and innovative as a public school district. With the help of talented staff, engaged families, and strong community partners, we are dedicated to meeting the needs of the whole child through innovative classroom learning and a relentless focus on each student.
