STAND #WITHMALALA <p> The Sylvan/Laureate Foundation is excited to sponsor middle and high school students from Baltimore to see HE NAMED ME MALALA. The film is a portrait of student, education activist, and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai, who at the age of 15 was targeted by the Taliban for her outspoken support of girls’ education in Pakistan. She was shot on her school bus ride home and severely wounded, which started a remarkable journey of healing and transformation. The film by award-winning filmmaker Davis Guggenheim (AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH and WAITING FOR SUPERMAN) shows us how Malala and her family have dedicated themselves to fighting for all girls' right to 12 years of safe, quality education. <p> Contribute below to partner with us on our efforts to underwrite Baltimore youth in seeing this film and engaging in the call to action.
