  • Fresh Materials for a Fresh Start!

    Fresh materials and an inviting environment are such an important part of a students' first day! Thanks to your donations, this project provided new book bins for students to keep their individual materials organized in safe place. We also received fresh new pencils, a display bookshelf for our unit book collections, and filling for our worn down bean bags! It also added some amazing books to our class library with authors that reflect students' identities, which we are able to use for our literacy circles. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to start our school year with everything we needed to have a successful and exciting new beginning!”

  • On the Same Page: Book Club Book Sets

    Thanks to your contribution, I was able to stock my library with diverse book sets that meet the needs of my students at various reading levels!

    We started book club/literacy circles that began as enrichment for my students reading above grade level. The books in this project made it so every reading group could be involved in a book club. Books like Ellray Jakes, Zoey Sassafras, and Bud Not Buddy are the perfect blend of young and diverse characters that my students can relate to and enjoy.

  • Comfort and Accessibility Are Essential for Learning

    My students and I would like to thank you for your contribution to our project, Comfort and Accessibility are Essential for Learning. Our class community loves the autonomy they have in where/how they choose to complete their work. They especially love the giant bean bag in our library, and the headphones. We now have enough headphones for every student to use them when needed/wanted. Students are able to access digital content, watch videos of themselves in their book club discussions, and block out noise distractions while working independently.”

  • A Way to Lift Our Voice

    We want to give a tremendous thanks for your support in funding our "Way to Lift Our Voice" project. The impact the microphones and speaker have had in our classroom community is greater than I could have imagined. Students who are typically shy and have a harder time sharing ideas out loud are demonstrating confidence and ownership in what they have to say. Students who are more soft spoken are feeling heard, without consistently being asked to speak up or repeat themselves. The best part is that the students take turns in open ended discussions by sharing the mic without teacher interference. Your contribution has made a huge difference.”

  • Flexible Seating for Flexible Needs

    I want to thank you for your address contributions to my students and to my classroom. Students have been working from home for so long so coming back to an actual classroom was a big adjustment for them. My goal was to make the transition as smooth and as comfortable as possible. You helped to achieve that goal by helping me raise enough money to purchase new flexible seating options for them to use. The wobble chairs were especially helpful for students who have wiggles or have a hard time sitting at a desk for periods of time.”

  • Fresh Materials for a Fresh Start!

    Your contribution to our classroom this school year has helped us start and finish proud and strong! We had brand new materials to share, which plays a big role in classroom community.   • Flocabulary & Nearpod for Interactive Remote Learning!

    We want to thank you for your support! Your contribution to our Interactive Remote Learning project helped us acquire TWO wonderful online resources for learning.

    Flocabulary had songs and catchy phrases that helped us understand so many different topics, such as main idea and detail, using historical sources, and financial literacy.

    Nearpod gave us the opportunity to complete assignments that were fun, engaging, and very interactive! Sometimes things were assigned to us individually, and we could work at our own pace. Other times things were assigned as a class, and we worked as a community of learners. Even our spelling tests were fun!

    Your support means everything, especially considering all of the challenges we faced with school closure and staying safe during the pandemic.”

  • Time's Up! Digital Timers for Distance Learners

    Funded Sep 14, 2020

    Thank you for your donations to our Time's Up project! The personal digital timers were a major GAME CHANGER for our class. Learning from home came with so many challenges, one being not being able to stay on task with each other since we didn't have our usual communal class timer.

    Our digital timers were so easy to use, and they helped us follow routines and get through transitions smoothly. In 2nd grade, students learn to tell time at the end of the year. So the concept of "come back from break in 5 minutes" or "return at 1:30" was difficult for most students.

    Everyone was able to set their timers at the same time, and felt confident and independent with staying on track.”
